Just bought our tree. When's Starmer and Reeves going to sort them prices out, eh?

Big fan of this sort of planning ahead, though if you are anything like me you'll have forgotten where you have put it by then.

As for prices...there are limits to what is within the purvey of government. Luckily the market will provide in these matters.

Put up our (fake) tree the other day. Cost a fortune from John Lewis, but as that was nine years ago it’s looking to be a wise investment.

Fake all the way. Think we're on year 14.
I've calculated it will have paid for itself by 2031. Or something.

Haven't got the tree out of the loft yet. Dreading to think what Ludo Kitten will make of his first meeting with it.

We have always been fake tree people. Real trees should be allowed to live. It's probably been 25 years with this plastic monstrosity.

As for Christmas... Looks like it is going to be more mince pies! Love that!

Chicago: Looking forward to the days off.

Our old house had a big sitting room with a very high ceiling that would comfortably take a 13 ft tree. I used to phone the forestry manager on the local estate and he would go into the woods, select one for me then deliver it by tractor and trailer. True story. Them were the days, the pre-fake-tree days.

Back when Charlie was reaping trees before he progressed to souls.

It seems old Reaper is not adverse to killing anything....

    We are so doomed.

Ouch! This from a one man assault on the polar ice caps. Don't stand for that Charlie, 'ave 'im.

Real tree, getting it on Sunday.

In a allegory for our modern times, the place where I used to get my (live) tree, (grown on site in the real ground), has been sold as a building plot.

Not bothering with a tree this year. Or decorations. Or Christmas really. After many years of large family Christmases I'm quite looking forward to not doing it at all.

Except for the parties, obvs. Now I'm back in Toronto I've gone from 1 or 2 parties (most years) to 3 or 4 a week for the next three weeks.

We used to have a real one but a couple of years ago the one we got dried out and died before Christmas, so we got a fake one and have stuck with that .

Daughter demanded at least six foot, real, and to go up on December 1st. So I delivered. Takes up half our living room.

She said maybe a smaller one next year.
