The current board uses 'boards' It has a number of boards mostly with nothing in them, certainly with little changing. They take up space at the index page, and look shit.

You assign a category....if it's not a category much used, who cares. There will be a default category, you don't have to do much. If you choose to make a category attribution is becomes meaningful.

Apart from some people not liking the visible tags, I can't imagine what possible problem there is.

It’s a bit silly that all the pinned threads are still showing and atop the board when you do a category view. I guess once we hit BAU and there aren’t a whole bunch of them (pinned threads) it won’t be so noticeable.

Thread has been pinned in category.

There is pinning globally, which is the only way to make threads appear at the head of the thread list. And pinning locally, which pins the thread to the head of that category., which might be buried on page 11.

So for important 'alert' threads I would imagine a period of 'announce' pinned globally, then pinned locally so easy to find within the category view.

I have changed the threads to pin locally for comparison.

In addition, it changed them all to unread for me.

I believe that the audit trail "Thread has been pinned locally." is handled like a new post.
