I quite like the sound of that.
I quite like the sound of that.
A year? He might find himself before we find the net.
Got to say I'm pretty surprised we've not announced anyone yet.
I'm with you. Two weeks since last game.
Can only assume the plan wasn't to sack him today whatever the result?
If we were sacking if we lost we'd have someone lined up surely?
There's suggestions online that Dyche was lined up, but then there was a hitch after sacking Ange, and now we're trying to sort it out (whilst briefing Mancini to apply pressure).
The Torygraph article suggests Mancini has come about as have been unable to close deal with Dyche, yet.
Again you'd think that would've been largely sorted before today.
Or are we saying win today and he stays on?
Presumably, otherwise they would surely have sacked him two weeks ago.
Maybe someone could tell Micah Richards and Alan Shearer that Postecoglou has been in charge for 8 games, not 5. He was allowed to try to get results in the cup games as well.
I doubt either of them would listen.
I'm more sympathetic to Ange than some, but I greatly recommend reading this only if you have potent relaxants.
It's all Forest's fault
Lots of people at fault:
Marinakis for thinking Greek heritage is a good reason to hire a manager.
Marinakis again for thinking someone winning a cup competition once, in unspectacular fashion, is a potential indicator of future success.
Edu and other football people at the club for being yes men and not pointing out the above (or not making the point forcefully enough)
those same football people for not making the case that such a big change would need a pre-season (and probably a transfer window) to have even the slightest chance of working
Marinakis again for being a scary fucker who people won't speak truth to
Ange for thinking he could change the style without a pre-season or a transfer window to shape the squad
Ange again for not taking some time out to get over Spurs
There may be more.
On balance, while I’m very glad that this experiment has run its course, I think I’m most happy that the band of Australians/Spurs fans/Celtic fans who decided to attach themselves to the club for the last 6 weeks and tell us why everything we were seeing was wrong, will disappear and find someone else to annoy.
Minor point of discussion here IMO. I believe Marinakis or Edu had already told Nuno that he needed to change style, and that they'd be buying the players to enable that change. The jury was out for me on whether he'd have been able to successfully do it. We had way more possession against Brentford, Palace and West Ham than we'd done in previous seasons, so it looks like it was being implemented. It's success? Unsure.
So, at least in Edu and Marinakis mind, they probably saw the change to Ange as not being as big a leap in style as is being more widely portrayed in the media; because the change had been happening gradually for the last few months?
I’m sure they’ll spend the next few weeks telling us after every defeat that it shows nothing was his fault, before they get bored and move on.
This hasn’t been mentioned at all when people have been talking about the massive change in style from Nuno to Postecoglou. Brentford 55%, Palace 58%, West Ham 58%.
