My main issue with sacking him is that our squad does not fit Dyche's normal style. I'm not sure who we could reasonably get who would though. Plus lurching between styles is recipe for disaster.
This squad doesn't have a style. We need a good manager to get the best out of it, not some theoretical one track idealist with no track record of success at the elite (’ship) level.
We really have fucked up our transfer business haven't we, if we don't have players who can play a possession game nor a lower block break away game or any kind of style!
I don't think he ever had the opportunity to build a team according to his ideal team style, he had no real money at Burnley or Everton and made the most of the squads he had plus relatively cheap additions. I think as a manager he is a pragmatist and would, I think get the squad/team, playing to their strengths.
...or you could look at what Moyes said about the state that Dyche left the squad and club in for him to build on.
Picking on a moment in time to compare what several tough campaigns has done to relationships for one manager, versus a fresh new voice, is simplistic at best.
I agree Benitez is more of a Marinakis hire. But (and I haven't checked this) Matt Davies on Forest Focus said his last good season was in 2019. So I'd be nervous.
Moyes is a classy guy and an old school manager. Of course he’s going to be nice about the last guy. And Dyche had been there 18 months - if he’d trashed his relationships with the players in that time, it’s another reason to steer clear.
I think he did all right in China. Everton was doomed from the outset because the fans hated him due to his Liverpool time. It does look like Celta Vigo was a bit of a disaster but I don't know the circumstances.
I didn't say that. I said there's a difference in the relationship between a voice that you've heard for a couple of campaigns, versus a new one. Whoever the principals are.
