Who's Karen?
Who's Karen?
I'm going to be much more gutted about CBW than I am about Francis. Sorry not sorry.
Starting to be confirmed from official channels now.
I would imagine most of us will feel that way, because most of us are of an age where we grew up with Bart. It's also more shocking when someone that young passes - he is/was a few months younger than me.
It's annoying you can't delete posts on this board. I speculated it was probably cancer. Then thought I shouldn't really. So tried to delete. But couldn't. So replacing my post with this instead.
Someone please check on Des and make sure he's OK.
That's a shocker. Brilliant footballer. Great guy.
Far too fucking young to die.
Oddly, for saying the news is widely out there as confirmed now, there's nothing yet from Forest. Unless they're needing to make absolutely sure through their contacts before saying anything on the record.
It's gone ten o'clock at night. I don't personally feel that a football club media department has an obligation to provide a 24 hour rolling news service.
That's what TalkBack is for.
Nobody's saying they should be breaking news but I'd still presume they'd put something out, given he was a popular and long-serving former captain. They'll have people either on-call this evening or senior enough to react/be expected to react in the circumstances.
I don't think that should be an expectation of them. They are a football club, not a news service. There's a danger we get into 'what needs a minute silence?' Territory. Where the answer is every fucking thing.
I think how they responded earlier to the sad news of TF was fine too.
If I'd played for forest and Wednesday, I'd not be falling asleep tonight.
Better check in with Jemmo, John Harkes and Carlton Palmer then, too.
And David McGoldrick, Marcus Tudgay and Chris Woods. But Des was the obvious one who came to mind.
He was only over a few months ago. Had a nice chat with him in the William Gunn. Older fans had Tricky Trevor and Munich. I had Bartman and Reading.
Danny Sonner!
