We also came across Tim on the canals once. Somewhere near Worcester (Offerton locks perhaps?). He kindly warned me of some shallows past the flight. After we'd completed the locks I heard my mate Stu awarding 'that bloke' a 9 out of 10 lookalike for Timothy West.

I crossed the road with him (Timothy West, not Disco Dave's mate Stu) and Gyles Brandreth outside the Houses of Parliament earlier this year. We waited for the green man and everything.
