Joe Kinnear & the magic hat is one of my all time favourite games (Coventry away 0-0 Stern Jon sent off), unless my memory is going.

    Bless him for that.

Didn't we have 2 sent off that game? We did one year in a 0-0 at Coventry.

We did, I just remember Stern getting sent off for encroaching at at a corner. We went mental and sang all game long.

Phil Dowd sent of both Stern & MLJ that night at Highfield Road.

    Full XI was

    Ward
    Jim Brennan
    Chris Doig
    Jon Olav Hjelde
    Bartman
    JJ
    Prutts
    Gareth Williams
    Andy Gray
    Stern John

My memory maybe failing me but that’s a Paul Hart team not Joke Kinnear

Memory might be failing me, but that looks a particularly slow team, especially Christophe Diog and Hjelde.

Joe was much later than that. If Impey wasn't in the middle looking shitter than a giant shit it wasn't a JK side.

That's only X. (I was trying to figure out who'd have been playing right back, it's MLJ who's missing.)

Definitely Hart or, even Platt - Hart sold Prutton in the play-off year around the same time we signed Huckerby, so he (DP) can't have played under Kinnear.

He brought back Alan Rogers, too, from memory.

There was only X for most of it. And for a good chunk there was IX.

He did. On debut against Walsall Impey scored after a couple of minutes and Rogers "assisted" (I don't think we had them back then though) the late equaliser in a 3-3 draw. We actually did really well under Kinnear in the second half of the 2023/04 season when he came in. Fell apart after the summer. I liked him, I was at Capital One at the time and we were sponsoring the shirt, so we saw a fair bit of him. It's a shame it went to shit, he seemed to struggle to settle into things and became increasingly irritable.

It was Hart, I remember him making a joke about it at the Shareholder meeting when Doughty wanted to increase control. It was voting on a ‘Section 413 proposal’ or something, and Hart said ‘I dunno about all this legal vajazzle, I thought a 413 was what we ended up with at Coventry’. Mad japes.

It was August in Harts first season, so really early on, just post-Platt.

I got that game in 40 minutes driving the old red tank. It looked shit but it had some grunt. After Kinoulton we dipped below 100 for the Hobby Horse Island but that was about it until we hit Cov.
