Number 7 was always Gary Crosby for me growing up. I had Carr down on the left for some reason (so the number 11), where I think Garry Parker was asked to play out of position on occasion - likely benching Carr in the process.

Blind determination to hang onto a job that she was clearly incapable of doing any longer means that the Dems can no longer confirm any more judicial appointments. For all the good she might have done in the past, her ego and arrogance have now caused huge harm.

He can replace her in the Senate but the replacement won't take her seat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will likely remain unfilled because the Republicans won't agree to anyone the Dems nominate for it and so any appointments can be stopped because the committee will be hung at 4-4. At least that's my understanding.

But the same would have applied if she'd stood down after the stroke presumably? Obviously it's crazy she ran as an 89 yo last year but there are plenty of others in a similar position. Not least the president.

It's been like that for a little while, since she took leave for shingles. The hope was that she'd be able to get back and just confirm votes, but now I imagine that committee will remain hung until after the next election.
