Mrs Charlie recalls serving him in a restaurant in St Ives (Cambs not Cornwall) when she was a svelte teenager. Suffice to say, Bugner was not very gentlemanly.

Good work on Mrs Charlie finally willing him to death. Perhaps not elite level scything, given the time it took her, but it's good to know the apprenticeship is bearing fruit. These things take time.

St Ives, Cambs isn't as glam as the Cornwall one, but looked sophisticated in comparison to St Neots. Ah, memories.

This could easily go into the “what’s annoying me” Yes she fucked up. Reading the summary it was through incompetence rather than malice.
We all know that if she was a male Tory, this would not even be a story.
It shows how difficult it is for a Labour government to control the narrative.

Seems like she didn't get the right advice. And the three houses stuff is nonsensical (one is a grace and favour and the other is where her ex-husband lives).

But she's the housing minister and she evaded tax buying a house, it's not defensible, it's incumbent on her to get the right advice, ignorance isn't a defence and it especially isn't for someone in her position.

I think he'd have known the right questions to ask and wouldn't have been in that situation in the first place. But, yes, I do. Zahawi had to resign when he was caught the wrong side of the avoidance/evasion line.

He tried to wriggle out of it and cover it up - he's not an honourable man - but once he was exposed, he had to go.
