    Really?

Like all badgers being born dead at the roadside with their i ternal organs hanging out, I had assumed it was generally accepted that everyone involved with Dad's Army were in fact already dead while making it. See also 'Black and White Doctor Whos' and the cast of all late 60's / early 70s sitcoms.

I thought Steve Wright was great during his pomp but unfortunately he never changed with the times. It's weird that he's dead as I thought he was much younger.

We are all popping off now.

    Only a matter of time.

Never really a fan. Always thought that he was a dork, making shit jokes. You'd think I'd feel more connection. Sorry he's dead. I'm hoping for a longer innings. Need to work on my jokes.

Wot Tricky said. Sad he’s dead as he seemed like a decent bloke all told. Wasn’t a fan.

Back in the day we’d have R1 or R2* on most of the day at work/van but would barely last half an hour of Steve Wright in the afternoon. Always seemed to be up his own arse amongst his zoo whilst having his tongue buried deep in the arse of his guests when they came on.

I think only Ken Bruce is still with us from daytime R2 of 15-20 yrs ago. Though I’m surprised Ken is only 4 years older than Steve Wright. Bruce seemed ancient even back then.*
Sad times, but still… you never know your luck, Jeremy Vine might be next.

**I’m telling lies, Mayo is still knocking about.

It was staple listening c 1989 / 1990 at work when the 'zoo' format was relatively new for daytime radio. For which I had no barometer anyway given I'd only just left school. Being just 16 at the time I though it was funny but it was of its time.

That all being said by the time he took it to the breakfast slot a few years later it was a bit old and by the time Evans et al were doing it, it was just tiresome and annoying.

And there wouldn't have been that insufferable ubercunt Moyles without Wright either so, y'know, swings and roundabouts.
