I forgot to mention Adam Wharton yesterday. Eze was excellent for them but this lad has a great eye for a pass. Set them up twice. Palarse do recruit well.
The stats thing about Sangare and Yates is pants. Sangare didn’t want the ball. He looked nervous, slow and indecisive. Not what we needed yesterday. It was a game we needed and I would have started Danilo and the Dom. Also Elanga over Origi. As mentioned Wood’s goal was fantastic but the rest of the game he didn’t have a sniff.
MGW in the 6 was surprisingly good. But, yes we looked more likely to lose at the end when Palarse decided that they wanted to play.
Fulham game will probably scare me just as much. If Nuno picks the same starting side as he did today we will probably be twatted.
Chicago: Hoping for progression.

I didn’t think so. There were a couple of times we got the ball on the edge of the box and the crowd shouted shoot, but the player passed instead. I Felt each time the ball never sat nicely or we got closed down really quickly so the pass was the better option. Origi was just shut out too easily though when he was played in.

Sangare had a moment in Palace’s box with a couple of really deft touches, so one thing I agree about is that there might be something there with Sangare worth persevering with (presumably the manager’s view). Thing is this really is not the time.
Absolutely would have started Dominguez ahead of him.
And I know I watched on TV, but I didn’t think Origi was all that bad and I can see the wisdom in bringing on Elanga when the other side is tired. Again, though, probably a tactic when we’ve players better down both flanks and a bit comfier in the table.

I can totally imagine on TV it looked like that , as you don't see all the of the ball stuff. Things like the ball is about to be passed to their left back. We all know it's going there. But he only starts vaguely closing the guy down once the ball is there (and the camera). But he could have been there 2 seconds before and really caused their player an issue.

It seems to me that a bit of the intensity and air has gone out of us. I don't think we press as well, and the distances between players are not right for me when we are without the ball. There was a clear bounce when Nuno took over (teams, as I have observed regularly in the past, are often at their best when they retain habits from a previous coach/manager but are also getting new ideas. Eventually all new ideas become old.), but since then we've not looked as solid as I thought he would get us defensively, and we've struggled to get players fit and on form in key areas of the pitch. SSC also struggled with that, but I think you can see how good he was at balancing a pretty ropey squad. Yes there's no little ability in there, but most of them have not trained up to the level yet. Consistency, the benchmark for the level players are at, is almost non-existent in most areas of the pitch. I could see what we were trying to do before, but now it looks a bit 'hope something will come up' followed by tossing on as many forwards as possible late on.

For sure there's a player in Sangare, but we probably won't see it this season. At the moment he's not worth a place, although I do feel he's a victim of a particularly languid style that makes him look lazy and not bothered. He's better than he appears to be. It'll be important for Nuno to get the midfield right on Tuesday, but he clearly doesn't know his best team. Neither do I. Maybe Yates and MGW behind Reyna? I'm sure there's an argument for Dan and Dom though.

If you want detailed analysis of what Sangare was doing well in the Eredivise and Ligue 1 then this is pretty thorough. Clearly he has not had a flying start, personally I have no opinion on that. There could be a number of reasons for it personal or footballing or whatever, maybe he will get better maybe he won't. Maybe we'll be stuck with him in the championship, maybe we won't.
Does anybody know how Alvarez is doing at Wham? Seems those two were seen as on a par in Eredivise.

I’m usually a “happy clapper” and even my faith was waning before Forest scored. I’m desperate for them to really put a side to the sword but I feel like the 2-0 against West Ham is likely the best we’re going to get.
I’m not especially hopeful for Tuesday and wont be too upset with anything less than 5-0 tonking/player injuries/suspensions. Really need to see some more positive set-up/play from the start in the games Forest “should” win or at least draw, though. Those being, IMHO: Everton, Wolves, Undead, Burnley.
One thing that pleasantly surprised me at the end of the match broadcast in the U.S. was Tim Howard being fairly complimentary about most of the relegation threatened sides including Forest.

I forgot the bit in the first half when one of their players left the field for some treatment and half their team decided to take a drinks break and the referee just watched and waited for them to come back. Two minutes added though.
