I understand that the laws and process is completely contrary to their stated intentions when implementing it. I have already covered that.

I'm not doubting what they are sticking you with....I'm wondering why you are putting up with it.

We have a more optimal coach who will get this good squad performing to the level it's worthy of?

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:18 p.m.

I'm unclear what your issue is. Do you want VAR to be able to review all yellows? If so, do you reject the assertion that sufficient yellow cards are poor decisions that doing so would add a lot of time to the game?

If you're just arguing that we should turn VAR off and make refs do a better job, I agree. If that's the case though I'm unclear why you're putting any expectation on me to fix it, as seems to be your way with everything else in the modern world that bothers you.

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:20 p.m.

    The outcome was still suboptimal.

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:26 p.m.

    No.

I'm saying that the laws of the game should be applied equally over all parts of the pitch, at all times.

I'm saying that what they have set out to actually do can never achieve that.

I'm saying that you, me, and all football fans, should stand up and say that what they are doing is not acceptable, and that we wont stand for it. stop paying to watch it. Protest it. Whatever it takes. Rather than excusing them as highly trained professionals at the peak of their powers doing their best.

I'm telling you that if you sit passively by and just keep waving through these stupid things, manufactured by a bunch of people who only have authority over the game and how it's played because you let them and because they want ever more of your money, then what you end up left with wont be worth a shit.

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:32 p.m.

VAR is shit but I still like watching football.

Willy Boly is shit but I still like watching Forest.

I would like both of those things to go away, but I'm not going to stop watching until they do. Not least because enough fans are convinced that both of those things are not shit, and I can't make them understand that they're wrong. They have to figure it out for themselves.

I think almost all fans who go to games hate VAR. But what VAR does is ramp up the jeopardy when you’ve got money on an outcome, or when you’re a pundit in the studio. So it’s mainly for global broadcasters and, most especially, the gambling firms who are knee deep in football. Yes, like our sponsor who doesn’t even trade in this country. None of those firms or broadcasters give a shit about the moaning from the 29k who were at the City Ground today. It’s not about us any more. Football sold its soul some time ago. It’s all about the global brand and milking stupid punters in the Far East and Africa now.

Zebras lost 1-0, also to an injury time winner. Difference was Wombwell were rightly reduced to 10 with 20 minutes to play due to a very reckless tackle.
Dodgy Lino got Brigg manager booked and then gave a very dodgy offside to disallow a Brigg goal. And was laughing with the crowd when Wombwell scored. All officials are cnuts.

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:45 p.m.

No. I have to keep telling you.

    Welcome aboard. Spread the word.

Correct. Also the stupid punters here (ticket buying fans, ridiculously overpriced tv coverage packages).

I'm not saying that we would win...but I do think that actual football fans should at least fight a bit, rather than passively just gulping down the corporate cock that's being fed to them.

Today's ref was also in charge for the game at Man Utd. The one where Rashford won a penalty that wasn't and Worrall was unjustly sent off. And we lost 3-2.

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:56 p.m.

I still don't understand why VAR isnt implemented as in cricket. Each team has three appeals.

We're waiting until a natural break in play for some decisions anyway, and the players will generally know when an appeal is worthwhile.

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:57 p.m.

It's just bad luck Charlie. Nothing anyone can do about it.

Unfortunately it's IFAB mandate that they are not allowed to get decisions right, and that's that I'm afraid.

  • 23 Dec 2023, 5:58 p.m.

I can't stop you doing that, but I can tell you that my dislike for VAR is not going to make me stop watching football or specifically Forest, nor is it going to prevent me from buying ridiculously overpriced TV coverage. So you might just have to live with me being part of the problem.

I have been managing for a number of decades now. Luckily my sarcastic argument is a proselytising religion, so I am driven by the ever-after redemptive power of conversion.

It's at least progress that you recognise that it's a pile of shit.

The second yellow was one of the worst d fusions I've seen.

In the ground the board said the handball was outside the box. Was that the right reason, as footage we've seen shows it inside.

Just don't think our players are very good. Squad is poorer than last year, how we let that happen I'm unsure. I guess the season Will come down to what we do in January window.

Officials in Liverpool vs. Arsenal: "Hold my beer"

Ødegaard plays as a second more advanced keeper. Penalty not given with some sort of hapless made up explanation that his body was moving and his hands were naturally flapping around like a performing seal.

    It's a joke....but it's not funny.
