Officials in Liverpool vs. Arsenal: "Hold my beer"

Ødegaard plays as a second more advanced keeper. Penalty not given with some sort of hapless made up explanation that his body was moving and his hands were naturally flapping around like a performing seal.

    It's a joke....but it's not funny.

You can’t judge a lot from that game since the gimp of a ref ruined it.

But the players put in a shift and certainly didn’t appear to be pining for Cooper

Yes that was the decision. You could see the players arm was behind his leg and could see his leg was in the box. Just pure incompetence.

And also unsure how the gimp missies it in the first place, if given it would never have been overruled.

And the club put in a complaint to the PGMOL after…….

The commentators said that the VAR voice feed they were party to said they didn’t have a defining view as to whether it was inside or outside the box so they couldn’t overturn.

Much as I wanted it to be a pen, it was borderline at best and there was no way you could be sure from the angles we were shown.

Dunno, I've now seen it and looks more in than out to me.

How come we spend 5 minutes drawing lines for an offside with 2 players moing but can't draw lines to see where the hand is relative to a stationary marking on the pitch?

And as someone else has said how come the ref didn't give anything (free kick or penalty) in real time?

Felt like we were the most likely winners if we’d had 11 players for the duration.

Genuinely baffled by that red card. If anything their guy is closer to a straight red for what’s close to a stamp.

Feet were in the box, footage wasn't definitive that contact with the left hand was. I think the rest of the argument that VAR didn't even bother with was that the first handball directed the ball onto his right hand which was definitely inside the box.

Given his performance in our game at Old Trafford, I think we can have reasonable cause to request that Rob Jones not be assigned to any more of our games.

The ball fell to a Forest player on the edge of the box, so presumably he was playing advantage.

Turner is probably the only goalkeeper in the Premier league who kicks from hands as anything other than a rare exception.

So they'd been tipped off that Wood might be on pennos?

I think the guideline/rule.our dickhead work to is if it comes off your body onto your arm it's not handball, so presumably coming off one hand onto the other means the second isn't counted as a hand.

Or if your hand is acting like you are a seal. Then it's a flipper, and doesn't count.

According to the ref in the arse match.

Makes sense. Nothing in rules about flipperball afaik.

Well, in terms of positives, I had 6 pints before the game for the first time in years. Also had a few after and then managed to arrange a takeaway pick up at sileby at the same time the wife picked me up from the station.

The negatives - barring a January miracle, we are down. You don't win Premier games with Origi and Wood starting. We made a game of it, but they looked better than us before the sending off.
