Didn't we have a match a couple of seasons ago, at home, that we were expecting or at least hoping to win, but we gave up an early goal and then lost both centre-halves to injury? And if I am remembering correctly, was it not against Brentford?

I could be making all this up, my memory is atrocious. Don't do drugs kids.

Was it Palace? Remember something similar.

Pretty sure it was away. And wasn’t that what got Felipe off the bench?

I was thinking Luton or Bournemouth, or maybe Im just focussing too much on the "we were expecting or at least hoping to win" bit.

This is an excellent question. We are ahead of the traditional recent target (well ahead under the current manager) to avoid relegation. Yet the league is dogshit (relative to where it could be for money spet - it seems like too many clubs are recruiting for development, flashing their knickers at the higher food change beasts and petrostates, and not trying to be the best that they could be). More top end points are finding their way down the league than you mgiht expect.

With 15 games left, I don't expect anyone will be going on a sustained 2pts per game run. If wet hams did, they would get 50 points....so any discussion is going to fail to meet guru's law.

I think my probably safe level is around 45 points at the moment.....although that is going to come down very quickly as other teams don't make points in the games they play. A big factor here is if wet hams get out of it....if they sink the number is going to very quickly get much less. If they do sink 40 is definitely enough. burnley and wolves are gone. If they don't, I would want our points tally to at least start with a 4.

Totteninghams supporters are quite entitled and bell-endy. I could see more disruption there, and them making a concerted run for the relegation spots. Leed and Palearse will also be eyeing us nervously. It's one from five out of those, for me...but it might quickly resolve if the hammers tank.

Comes down to how many points you think West Ham’s ropey defence and less ropey forwards can muster from their 15 remaining games. If it’s 20, and it could be, then that gets them to 40. I could see Palace (or Leeds or us) getting fewer than that.

We lost 3-2 at home to Fulham in 2022. Cook and Boly went off. Is that the one?

Edit - no it isn't. They were both subbed in the 63rd minute.

2nd edit - it was a 2-0 defeat at Fulham in 22/23. McKenna and Boly both went off inside the first 6 minutes.

Thanks Dave. I'll take "West London team" as close enough.

To the relegation battle: I think Leeds have enough. They're at Everton tomorrow and I have no doubt that the DCL rehabilitation tour will continue, Everton haven't been great recently - 2 wins in their last 7, one of which was that abomination against us at the WFCG. I just can't see Spurs being overtaken by West Ham, I think Palace could be in trouble though. Their morale must be on the floor and with a lame duck manager, no one good is going to want to go there in the window.

    A sex pest?

West Ham aren’t going win 7 and draw 4 of their last 15.

Well done Rave, you did good. Long way to go but it's a good start. Remember, even on the Isle of Wight Ferry one swallow doesn't make a summer.

I think you should do Thursday. You need to build on this.

    Don't forget.

Running the table from 21/10 when Dyche took over to date, we are 11th and only 6 points off the top 4 and 6 clear of the bottom 3. I struggle to find a way to look at that as anything other than good work and a turnaround from the disaster of the start of the season. It would be interesting to see what Dyche could have done in circumstances where we hadn't given everyone other than Wolves a significant head start and where he had a preseason. The next three games against Palace, Leeds and Spurs are really important but if those go ok they should set us up really well to be fine and might even mean we can prioritise the Europa league, if we're still in it.

They both got injured clearing the same ball. Comical looking back but not at the time.

Would need a change to the law. Not sure anyone would think it the best use of government time.
