You don't think this government, at this time, would see any value in passing a law which likely wouldn't take a lot of work and primarily appeals to young white men?
Finally got to see some highlights and the Taiwo goal was a joy. Nothing on, defender comfortable, and then suddenly kind of past him. The second defender goes for glory(?) or something and Taiwo finds the keeper's heel? Ridiculous goal. Brentford will be spitting at conceding that.
First goal was a cracking turn, but again the defender should have been in that gap. Optimum height for beating the keeper though.
It did not look an easy watch, though not too many real chances.
Quite oddly I'm fairly dispirited despite the win. I'm seeing a manager coach players into being less, turning a team from potential into stagnation and optimism into drudgery.
Delighted for Jesus and Awoniyi obvs but it was a turgid watch.
...for half an hour we were outstanding. If you are going to find being that good, for that long, turgid you probably don't want to watch any current football teams. Certainly the likes of arsenal, shitty, the new liverpool , have made an art form of doing not very much, for a long time.
I definitely preferred the days when teams picked up the ball, and tried to score.
But it also really confuses me. You've definitely watched much worse shit, for a very long time indeed. Given how the laws are, and the discrepency in financial opportunity, and the officiating, and the fact that you are watching top level stuff, and the other teams are also trying...what actually are you, and all the other football fans who moan about how shit the football they are watching is, actually in it for?
Let me phrase it in the style of the football you seem to enjoy
Coach bad.
Make good football blokes play bad
Football blokes not big bastards
Football blokes want fuck off to good coach
Team get ready for Championship not Champions League.
Let me try again.
Dyche is shit at utilising the assets at his disposal. He's tactically naive and coaches the football the team is capable of out of them. That's nothing to do with some petro state wibble. Who is saying we need to be able to compete for the signing of MBappe? If we persist with the charlatan past the summer, we will buy players that fit his vision of mediocrity and we will have a lot of huff and dare I say it, puff to enjoy, crushing the elusive hope of something better.
Evidence this. You need to describe how this is happening. You also need to account for how despite inheriting a team in disarray he has managed comfortable mid table form, and in the last three games managed champions league form despite playing the current best team in the league and Europe, a team away that could have moved into champions league contention, and a resurgent team in the relegation spots fighting for their lives.
You seem to be projecting your own views and feelings on this. Which I don't agree with. What's wrong with coaching a side to be organised and work hard? If you take away this huff and puff, what magic incantation are you going to rely on to beat technically better, stronger, bigger, organised teams that you play against?
If we can buy mediocre players, that are actually useful to us and improve the team and squad, I'm all for it. Particularly if the alternative is buying expensive powder puff midgets who are absolutely no use to us at all.
Again evidence from the actual outcomes do not support your argument. And that's with a disillusioned team, tired and shagged out after a particularly long squawk last time out, dragged from the sublime to the ridiculous by previous managers, confused and with their confidence undermined, the team weakened, and the backups not to the level.
Explain to me what the alternative looks like? Pink unicorns farting pixie dust is not a viable progressive option right now.
Football fans have a bit of a tendency to think that there's something about this that I don't like, therefore the manager is shit. It's often a complete load of old pony.
They way Dyche sets up and plays I suspect we will get less points from the next three ‘easier’ games than the last three.
Wolves and Palace aren’t going to come out at us and we will struggle to create anything meaningful as they sit back. Leeds will come at us so actually feel that’s our best bet of getting something.
Obviously Talkback is a tough place to visit, there are no easy threads at this level and it's all about getting some posts on the board but I'll definitely be taking the momentum into tomorrow's thread whilst taking it one thread at a time and keeping my fingers firmly on the keyboard.
Keep your eyes firmly on the prize, play to your strengths and take the crowd with you. With you at the helm and Russ in charge of substitutions Dychy will be sleeping easier.
I'm already taking the momentum with me - I don't think I've got room for the crowd as well.
Look, we know it's tough, but I've got to keep on doing what I think is best for this board as a whole.
