When we have our house settled, (the basement still gets water and the developer is refusing to fix it and we are in the process of having to sue him), we would like to get an arcade machine to go with our pool table in the finished attic (that needs the air fixed too so another expensive repair).

I have been scooting around on the internet looking for the perfect home Arcade machine with Golden Tee, space invaders, Galaga, street fighter etc and am running into logistical problems. As in most of the best ones are in the UK and shipping them costs around $1000.

Now having said all that, I still want one because I think having an old school arcade machine with a games room would be brilliant. Does anyone have any insight into a good one. A working one, Or a cost effective. Yes, I am going the web mong route because I have a few ideas but really cannot make up my mind. The budget doesn't matter as I have an interest free credit card or am open to financing.

Asking for a friend (who happens to be me).

Chicago: Wanting to go old school.

I actually have a friend in NYC who has a bunch, I can ask him where he gets his machines.

    I would appreciate that. Thanks.

I talked to him and his are all Arcade1up replicas.

    arcade1up.com/

He has one of them modded so it plays over 2000 games. He says they're great, but if you're looking for the real thing then he'll talk to his neighbour next time he sees him as he's hooked in there.

Yes I would like a big bastard with all the games. Especially with the golden tee track ball as I loved playing that game at the pubs and bars with friends and wifey.

Having boat loads of other classics would really float my boat.

Chicago: Already looking forward to it.

OK, I might just connect you with MJ rather than me being the middle man in the conversation. I'm seeing him next weekend and I'll introduce you on Whatsapp, you can talk directly to the rather entertaining and completely hatstand MAGA lawyer lunatic.

Well I think I will avoid politics with the fellow and stick to the business in hand. Thanks for your help.

    Chicago: Gaming it.

Generally that's my approach unless I want to wind him up. He's a good dude, just has some whacko ideas.

Out Run. It must have / you must get Out Run. The original.

That's all I have to contribute.

I have no fucking clue what that is…. So tell me more.

    Chicago: Out Ran?

Not one of your best Ongo. I would rather listen to Status Quo.

Out run is a driving game. I think it was called something else way back when but essentially I am probably senile now and my sense of nostalgia is warped. I will add that to my list now if I can pre-load games in. Hopefully it’s just available.

    Chicago: Ready set Go.
