For me Jim's GOT to do better there, he's got to. Right enough. And I'll love it when he does to be honest.

Last night it was Darren “Fletch” Fletcher. Bonafide tricky. So he was good.

And McCoist provided entertainment for Dave and me. (That he did. Sure enough)

Don't know about partridge but radio is ahead of tv, so unless you delay it (which seems unnecessarily annoying) you'll be told about stuff happening before you see it.

Put radio on. Press pause at key incident (like kick off). Wait for TV to reach key incident. Press play.

    Is norrard.

Probably just me, but I really didn't like him right from the start (when I first heard his commentary on century). He's a thoroughly competent commentator and broadcaster. I just find him annoying. He's no alan green, but he's a nob.

Apart from in the car I haven't had an actual radio for years, it's all online streaming these days on smart speakers.

The first rule of a commentator is to convey what’s going on, clearly a different skill set depending on whether it’s radio or TV. An ability to evoke and to be knowledgable is even better (Peter Jones, Alan Parry, Barry Davies etc). Not moaning or being annoying (yes you Alun Green) or overly excitable are bonuses. Fletch (as I call him) definitely ticks the first two boxes.

I found myself listening to Talksport for the Bournemouth v City game the other day. Truly dreadful. As in utterly incompetent. Didn’t even realise Marmoush had scored, who passed to him, where he was in the box etc.

As I’m in an Apple environment, partridge is a pain. I will assume it’s infinitely better.

His commentary on Century all those years ago was akin to early Jonathan Pearce on Channel Five (see: Granville? He's open all hours...).

I recall Fletcher used to keep saying 'The man we call the Major Oak!' when describing Wes Morgan in a Forest shirt. It might very well have passed me by, but, as a season ticket holder and regular follower away at the time, I can't recall ever hearing anyone else saying that.

I have put considerable effort into making partridge accessible without pain in the applesphere. I am also led to believe that recent versions of their browser now support .ogg - so finally it should actually 'just work'.

My car doesn't want to do FM, so just have DAB. Which means as soon as I'm out of town, there's nothing. So I stream everything in the car too.

Did amuse when chappy was doing the birthdays at half time and one was a girl called "April" about which he said something like "that's appropriate on April 1st". Probably not a coincidence is it, though, if you think about it?

I use VLC on iPhone, works great, and has apple car support so can listen on the move.

Yes, I said the same to my wife Pancake.

I'm here all week, try the chicken etc.

Had a similar discussion with my girlfriend. But for some reason steak and blowjob was just grumpy about it.
