And in Fort Lauderdale there is some concern about a cold snap. It's going to be 67F (20C) today.

AND IT'S WINDY
What's that name again?
That name again is Mr Plough.
I did tell you this.
We got sent home from work on full pay from Geelong Airport when the temperature hit 42. As my Irish mate at them time pointed out, it would be a fucking brilliant country, if you could roof it. He may have been after the gig.
I am desperately craving warm weather. 29 days, 10 hours, 42 minutes before I take off.
-35F last week. I went running in 1F- Sunday after the Forest game. Not really cold considering I wasn't wearing many clothes other than shorts. You lot are giant pussies.
Chicago: Forgetting that I moan a lot in the hot summer.
Super-cold temperatures are affected massively by humidity, too. A few years ago we went from Alberta, Canada, in December where it was -22C to New York (-7C).
It felt so much colder in New York, presumably because the air held more water. We couldn't make snowballs in Canada because the snow was so dry and like powder.
If you layered-up and made sure you had a hat on, it was perfectly fine, whereas in New York it was fucking freezing. Cold went right through you.
I was colder in the UK a couple of weeks ago than I am in Canada right now where it's 20 degrees lower on the mercury. The UK is just so fucking damp all the time, indoors and outdoors.
Much of the UK's housing could do with knocking down, and building with proper insulation using modern techniques.
But no. houses are money, developers are lords, and the actual King is an architectural retard whose inspirational lead means that what mostly gets built is twee faux-georgian shite built out of cardboard and string. Anything else struggles to get planning.
you should see the "quality" of housing built here, wood and paper does not make for great building standards..
Is "The Three Little Pigs" available in NZ?
Brick is structurally stronger than wood frame, but the standards here are ime far superior. A lot of British homes are built without any form of vapour barrier, the use of radiator systems for heating rather than forced air means air movement and ventilation is much worse, and retrofitting and renovating older brick homes with modern materials for insulation is far more difficult and expensive than stud and drywall meaning that it's far less likely to happen.
54 days until I hit sunny Thailand. I really love the British summers, and last winter was OK, but the last few weeks have been disgusting. Endless wind and rain, and soaking rain. If I didn't have kids, I'd find myself a nice seasonal job, then bugger off for the winter.

They built for Australian weather, which is decidedly optimistic.
and the actual King is an architectural retard
To be fair to HRH Sausage Fingers, isn't anyone who's not an actual architect kind of an 'architectural retard' by definition, on account of their not being actual architect?
