In the last week the snowfall accumulation in Toronto has been 2" less than we received the whole of last winter. Granted it was a very mild winter last year, but over 2 feet of snow in a week is quite significant.

-8F tomorrow here in chicago and that is before the wind which apparently is going to be gusting at 25 miles per hour. I suspect it might be a bit nippy and time for me to run around the block a couple of times half naked in the hope that my endorphins will kick in and crush this sciatica.
Probably not but worth a gamble. Today is a positively barmy 10F but feels currently like -3F because of the winds. So a wind chill of -19C today and a regular temp before winds of -22C. tomorrow. Sweeeeet!
Chicago: Basking.
It was gusting 55-75mph in Vermont this weekend, in conjunction with 18ft of snow in 24 hours. One of our neighbors lost their chimney flu overnight.
Señorita Mus attempted to ski on Sunday, had to abandon after 4 runs, as most of the chair lifts had iced over and freezing rain was stuck all over her visor, helmet etc, one other skier didn’t realise it was frozen rain and complemented her on the “glitter style helmet’…
Last week the state of Illinois turned into Arizona or an African Sahara state. It was completely wild as the sky turned completely white and visibility dropped to almost zero as I was driving home. I am still clearing my lungs since then. Now as it is approaching June it has rained for three days straight and is colder than a lot of the winter months. I don’t mind this but it’s a bit fucking weird.
Thank God the Trump Administration doesn’t recognize climate change anymore.
Chicago: Ducking for cover.
God knows how it is going to affect Ingo's viewing of the tour de France... Might as well call it The Running man at this point if they don't delay it.
We have been in a heat dome for two weeks in the last week of June. OOOF! Lucky I work indoors. . I would assume Mus is happy now.
Chicago: Watching the world burn.
You’re correct, very happy. Low 20’s at 7am in the morning is ideal when heading out on the bike, as I did this morning, currently in the low 30’s and expected to be that way for the most of this week and next, happy days.
70 mph thunderstorms passed through last night, lots of power outages, and downed trees, still back in the low 30’s today so mustn’t grumble.
Installing a full house generator was one of the best investments we’ve made, the whole neighborhood was in the dark last night, whilst we had air conditioning, internet and were able to cook. riding around town this morning, trees and power lines down everywhere and the gentle buzz of generators to accompany my ride.
Suspect my neighbours won’t be mowing the lawn today…
One of these days I will learn how to drop a photo into talkback without it being oversized. We have a solar generator but are too reliant on the grid. Having lived in the relative safety of being east of the forest preserves we are now west of them and tornadoes are a real possibility in my area. One of these days as we are surrounded by very large and old trees we might not remain totally unscathed. Love storms. Little leery of the more frequent twisters which were non existent in this area 10 years ago. Climate change eh? Who would have thunk it!
Chicago: Checking the insurance coverage.
Was offered free tickets to see the red hot Chicago Baseball cubs today at beautiful Wrigley field. It’s a lovely place to visit but the heat index is 100f with mega humidity and our seats (albeit very good ones), are not in the shade. Call me names if you wish but that was enough for me to turn those down as a few beers in that searing heat would be enough to do me in and I like watching live Baseball.
Chicago: Consistent.
Funnily enough I am considering going to watch the equally hot (currently) Blue Jays tomorrow specifically because the weather is so roasting and awesome. Although I might just go sit in the park with a book and a bottle of wine.
Fuck that it’s roasting here. Went to see the F1 film. Loved it.
Chicago: Racing ahead.
