I was suggesting that you are using the weather as an excuse to avoid visiting the in-laws.
EDIT: ^ as tricky says.

Russ gets the hose out in the night…
Terrible news dear, ice storm!
Ah I see. No, we're past that stage. My mother in law is in a hospice and quite off her rocker these days, I'm long since excused from those visits. SIL/BIL are two streets over from us and are good drinking buddies. There are a few other family members I can live without but I generally don't get roped into going to see them.
It’s fucking hilarious that the guy who is the biggest snowflake on talkback (and won’t ride his bike in the rain) is accusing the one who lives in extreme weather conditions of being a lightweight
This sounds fun. Where did it happen? I can't see it.
It was a bit bit blowy out here in the wilderness last night and I was awoken by what sounded like a clattering of wheelie bins a-tumbling down the road.
It was terrible, just terrible.
However, as I couldnt get back to sleep due the slightly gusty weather outside, in an exciting Talkback thread crossover event, I managed to accidentally catch some the Bruins game in O/T, which sadly saw a late concession which ended the game 3-2 to the bad guys.
Tired now, so in yet another twisty turn to this rollercoaster of a tale, and crossing into mundane territory, I'm wfh this morning as I'm excersising some accrued flex time, which I never usually do and thus end up losing several hours each month as we can only 'carry over' 7.5 hours (I'd forgotten it was even a thing until HR mentioned it to me. Clearly they periodically check that shit, the sneaky fucks), to finish at 1ish before braving the monthly 'big shop'.
Fucking 15 degrees in Manhattan today. Have packed expecting cold & walked nearly 13 miles in warm socks. Was expecting Central Park to look like Home Alone 2, instead it was like Clumber Park in the Autumn.
Chic’s fault, all that iceberg chasing, the bummer,
If only there was some way that you could look up the likely weather in advance.
A thing I’ve heard people say more than once recently when old footage of winter in NY has surface is “hey, remember snow in the city?”
Late 90s/early 2000s there’d be tons of the stuff. Not anymore, apparently.
I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about.
Shady it was giving out -4 last week numbnuts.
It’s not like I wasn’t OK just wearing a hoody. It’s that NY shouldn’t be 15 degrees in Feb - it’s 13-15 degrees higher than it should be this time of year.
New Yorkers seemed to enjoy it tho. Lots of joggers in Central Park making the most of not being icicles.
Anyways, off to Salem on Tue and it’ll be -5 to -9 lows there. That’s much better. Did Kevin McAllister ever get lost in Salem?
Copycat. We did New York then Boston - Salem - Cape Cod a few years ago. Was one of the best holidays ever.
We packed appropriate clothes for the weather.
Don’t worry tosschops it is 0c here and I went for a run like a fucking man. Before Russ starts about jogging, I was interval training fast, medium, slow fast for two miles in order to get ready to go back to playing football in order to knacker me knees. I followed it up by a cold plunge in my plunge tub and am now watching football. Cold is ace.
Chicago: On the move.
Chic, you now scare me.
Are you actually one of the villainous characters in Fargo?
Probably…
Chicago: wanting to kill the noisy neighbours.
If you went in your pants again, they'll die of fear.
To be clear: I am not and have never been a jogger, and I have never defended or encourage jogging.
