Turns out Karl Mark’s statement of a below average Chicago summer was a slight underestimate. Today 100/101f (38 c) with very high humidity making the heat index 115/120.

Tomorrow 103f (39.5c) with 100% humidity which is deadly.

Bodies will start dropping this afternoon around 3pm..

Chicago: Hoping the electric won’t break.

Well this is boring. The heat index is only 111f as the humidity level has dropped. I was hoping the joggers first but the Fcukers may get away with simple heat stroke.

    Stupid world.

    Maybe more luck tomorrow.

    Chicago: Genocidal.

85% humidity this morning at 5am. It’s on!

Pretty sure that I'm hotter now than I was cycling under the baking sun.

Not to bad in the bungalow here. Nice and low with big soffits. Keeps the direct heat out.

Bit warm in the loft mind. No gaming up there tonight.

Won't the orcs get out of control if you don't?

We're in Wales on Holiday, I love Wales, we expected and prepared for rain, but it hasn't gone an hour without raining in 4 fucking days.

Love rain it's the best. Unfortunately it is also going to snow here tomorrow which is fine apart from the fact that the pavements that go past our house are now our responsibility and we better shovel them because otherwise someone will fall over and the rest will be history...

    Fcukers.

    Chicago: Buying a snow blower.

Same here, although we don't have sidewalks where I live so it's not an issue. Generally though it's pretty straightforward, you're required by law to shovel your path so postmen etc can get up it and the sidewalk in front of your house. When you get a lot of snow like we do where I live, you buy a snowblowing machine.

Do you live in one of those weird places that is so car dominated that they don't even bother building pavements?

  • Russpanorama_fish_eye

    Yes, it's called "the countryside".

No pavements here in the Shire, just grass verges and footpaths across the fields.

One pavement here, as it’s on a road that is plowed by the town, everyone recognizes there is no need to clear it as it gets buried everytime the town plows. Fortunately we’re in a quiet area, not quite the countryside of the shire but close enough that no one really pays attention to the pavement in this part of town.

Given the lack of snow the past two winters, the snow blower has sat unused, which is a good reminder that it probably needs a service.
