Brilliantly, despite not actually being out of the contest yet Ivory Coast have fired their manager.

Hosts and favourites losing 2 out of 3? I'm not sympathetic to the manager this time.

It's better to fire him before you get knocked out.

Senegal play Ivory Coast on Monday, so we either get Moussa or Boly/Serge/Sangare back for Bournemouth a week on Sunday (Arsenal Tuesday might be a bit soon).

Assuming he's fit, Moussa is more important than the other three put together.

Either way we get a big lad to play with Murillo. Although Bournemouth will probably have sold Kieffer Moore by then.

Sangare, I think had been much improved after his virus fatigue had worn off. Niakhate is a gem tho.

I like Murillo but he is a long way from the finished article and I'm getting bored of conceding goals as a result of him being unable to win his aerial battles.

As others have pointed out, I think it would be interesting to see him moved into one of the defensive midfield roles in front of the back four. Of course, we'd need fit/better centre halves than him first to give that a go.
