I've no idea. But you can bet that the hierarchy have a few names on a piece of paper.

It seems to me that we were fucked by having a team made up largely of players who are unfamiliar with the intensity of the Premier League. some good players in there but there was a massive Yates sized hole in the middle of the park. Our press was half arsed. I'm yet to see what Sangarre brings but haven't been bothered to look at the stats. Watching Nunez score is a stat that concerns me. Certainly, our ability to buy strikers who are close to death doesn't help. Not sure how long Origi will be with us and not sure why we got him.
I can forgive Murillo. It was naive but he will learn to judge when he has the right cover to break forward and Id rather have that capability available to us.
Time for Turner to stand down. he's not awful but that was not good enough. And also has a tendency to parry shots into the path of an opposition player.
But the one positive is that I thought Elanga worked well with what he had. As I think Tricky pointed out, was off side but he had to be on the edge to try and make the break work.
you knew we were fucked when I think it was Dominguez just needed to get a contact on the ball to get a shot on target and he fell over instead.
Gut feeling is that Cooper will be gone in 2 games. Maranakis doesn't like him and the the idiots who expect us to be in the European places are turning on him. It will be a mistake. Cooper carries some blame for recent performances but he will continually improve.
Let me be absolutely bloody crystal clear, I am not advancing the argument to sack cooper. Almost completely the opposite. I suggest Cooper does learn from mistakes and has shown he has real talent as a top coach. But he will make mistakes. Those mistakes mean we are on a slower trajectory than our owner will tolerate. But we will get there under Cooper. I just think the owner will want to get there faster.
Also Graham Potter would be on a list surely??
How do you know Marinakis doesn’t like him? Surely if that was the case, he would have been gone after Leicester away last season? At that stage, we were abject. I also seriously don’t think he’s listening to voices saying we should be in the European places.
We are three/four points away from where we optimistically should be and that would be comfortable. A combination of injury (way beyond a joke now), loss of control, brain farts and missed chances mean that we are not. We could easily have had more return from Luton (h) and Burnley (h) Palace (a) arguably Man Utd (a). Luton is the most annoying and Palace away the most frustrating because of those 3 chances.
Its the usual "I have it on good authority" scenario.
And ya de ya de ya....thrown away too many points with Luton and then a poor performance yesterday combined with Everton dragging themselves up the table with a worse squad.
Potter and Lopetegui are the two obvious names.
Still an obvious "stick" for me.
It’s been reported widely that the owner was astonished at the acceptance of mediocrity at the club when he took over. So nobody really know about his expectations but it’s not stupid speculation to summarise he wants Forest to be more than a makeweight in the premier league.
Obviously we can only speculate in generalities as we aren’t part of the day to day of the club, but it feels like the team is less than last season in terms of its cohesiveness and understanding of tactics and each others strengths. That combined with injuries feels like we are a team for the taking again this season
Hard to judge if that is just a load of new players getting to know each other, or something deeper.
I think we're missing the passion and Nottingham meduckness of Yates, Worrall and Johnson at the moment. Last year, we had an almost underdog spirit thing which got the crowd going and saw us achieve some memorable results, particularly at home. We're now trying to become a more considered, technical team with the likes of Sangare and Dominguez. Trying to be Palace or Fulham instead of Millwall in a cup game at Man City. And while it's taking time for them to settle and understand the league and what Cooper wants, in the meantime we don't have the fire of those academy lads to fall back on. Not suggesting Yates and Worrall should be automatic picks at all. We're transitioning, as folk like to say, and we need to stick with the process. It will come good. Or, at least, it will come a bit better.
Well written. This is my take too.
Maybe we could pay the boy Jesse to come and be a good influence in the dressing room again. The new medical guy will need someone to practice on. Win win.
The atmosphere in the ground is also miles off what it was last year, and I do feel it is not helping our performances. Maybe a run of tougher matches will help us rediscover that underdog spirit as a fan base and properly support, but there has been a clear increase in moaning this year. I assume a lot of our fan base think we should be a mid table side now, because we have some new shiny players (and Divock Origi).
I can understand his irritation at the acceptance of mediocrity. We would argue that we’ve put up with far worse for almost all of this millennium. We’ve had the debate on here with several members saying last year that they’d be ok if we were relegated and others (including me) saying that it would be horrible.
The team is technically better than last year. I think we want to play a different game so the tactics are evolving. This time last year, we were losing badly. Barring yesterday, that hasn’t happened yet (although City were impeccable for the first 25 minutes.)
Agree with you about the injuries. I’m not sure I’ve mentioned how annoyed I am by that situation?
If we’d beaten Luton or Burnley we would be. Our three easiest home games (on paper) have produced 5 points. So people will be frustrated.
I have not been twattering today, but has this come from there being talk and rumours generally or is it just people on here with a gut sense?
If the former then it's caught me by surprise, I felt he was in mortal danger last year and the ownership were unlikely to be measured about it but they shocked me.
I don't buy that he's operating at the edge of his capabilities. I think he's a great coach and a great communicator, even compared to his peers in the Premier league. If this stems from the Luton subs, that is crazy.
I am at the place now where if we are genuinely committed to building something I can't see how changing the coach who has helped us achieve more than we have in the last 20 years, seems loved by the majority of the fans and the players and seems to have a real plan helps.
We might think about looking at upgrades for the physios though, the medical staff and the training pitch.
As for alternatives, Potter is a great coach but not the sort who comes in and turns things around fast mid season.
Although our two theoretically easiest home games last season (versus the other promoted teams) produced zero points. So people could be a bit happier.
