Yates has made a huge difference. Again.

  • 29 Oct 2023, 3:52 p.m.

Any coincidence with Ryan Yates on the pitch?

He is a nuisance despite his limitations.

Too little too late mine you but oh well.

    Chicago: Still watching.

“The people problem” is what I think about what the Forest owner will be thinking?

  • 29 Oct 2023, 3:55 p.m.

    Disallowed. Unbooooooo.

  • 29 Oct 2023, 3:57 p.m.

Still look very ropey at the back.
Nice to see Taiwo back and Neco’s looked good for crosses.
I hope they can be a bit more positive in the next few matches otherwise, like others, I worry about the owner.

Whoever is thinking that, is exhibiting the people problem.

  • 29 Oct 2023, 3:58 p.m.

I should have called this match thread Brain Fart. Some of our mistakes are incredible.

    Chicago: Palpitating.

  • 29 Oct 2023, 4:12 p.m.

None of that was hugely surprising. Yates and Vlachodimos need to play and Yates needs to be on the field as our captain.

That was really poor. I think I have stated on here I didn’t think selling Jonno was a good idea, even if the money was good. Today we had no outlet at all. I know we are supposed to be moving to more possession based football, but it’s not going too well. We looked sluggish and turgid in midfield till Yates came on. I have no idea why some people still go on about his limitations, rather than look at what he adds.

I am pretty pessimistic about our direction right now.

  • 29 Oct 2023, 4:29 p.m.

No outlet, but we are missing Awoniyi (at full pelt, and when he came on it helped), Origi, Wood, CHO and Johnson himself has been injured since he left us until the last game.

If this is the actual wake-up call to get that assclown out of goal (it won't be the first wake-up call to that) and if Felipe and Awoniyi are close and we can get Yates back in and doing what he does best, things will change. I doubt we will get anything from Villa though.

And this is where we get behind the team rather than go Charlton or Fester mardy.

The atmosphere last year gave us a boost. We need it now. We were very unlikely to get anything from this game. We cocked up twice and we’re punished for it. I would keep Muriel in the team as he’s a hell of a talent but he needs to learn from this quickly. Turner? I have been fine with him this season up until that moment of madness. Who knows if the Greek is better but I am pretty sure we are going to find out.

Next week is when it all gets real.

Don’t lose faith. This is the big time. It’s going to take years to be where we want to be. Villa survived by the skin of their teeth a few years back and now are much better. That is the benchmark we need to chase right now. Not the top 4/6 yet.

Am attacking player in January will help. Liverpool will twat a lot of teams at Anfield this year. We made it easier for them but wet sham last year was waaaaaay worse. We also have a boatload of new players again. I am not sure coops knows how best team yet. Taiwo, Aina and Yates for me if fit..

    Chicago: Keeping the faith.

He's an assclown. He can't kick and never has been able to. He has no authority or presence. He lacks concentration and he flaps. His footwork and positing is amateurish. I am not even sure he's better than Hennessy. £10M is absolute daylight robbery. Sadly, these things were there if you look at what he did and what he hasn't done at the time we signed him (I.e. play a double digit number of games in a league of higher quality than the MLS, which if the Bundesleiga is a farmers league, must be a league for people whose horticultural limit is a modest sized raised bed). Any keeper who has held a starting place down in the championship would have had a higher pedigree. Vlachodimos managed to be number 1 for Benfica for several years and replace Ederson so it would be surprising if he's not better, even if he's not amazing.

Turner has gotten away with it a few times this season but there's an increasing number of times when he hasn't and if he stays as number 1 he will cost us games. His ineptitude probably didn't make a different to us losing today as we would have likely done that anyway, but there are other games when it has and over the course of the season it could make a huge difference to our points.

    Your hatred is weird.

He’s not perfect but I have seen way worse keepers. Today on the other hand was pants end of story.

    Chicago: Looking forward.

I don't hate him, he's a nice guy. I just think he's very far below the standard of keeper we should be aspiring too, much much worse than what we had last year and it angers me that we have been robbed by Arsenal and so many people seemed to want to convince themselves he is good and just because he was first in the door that Vlachodimos should be behind him - next man up doesn't always work. Presumably we thought Arsene reserve keepers work out - see Martinez and Leno. Seriously, Karl Darlow would have been better and cheaper.
