Well because it appears he’s left out the club record signing and an experienced player who has played for elite clubs, to prove a point.

Hutchinson is easily defendable, I think. There are lots of other experienced alternatives in any position he might fill. Someone had to miss out, sorry.

Zinchenko I struggle to see to logic of. I know there are no games that directly clash with AFCON (maybe the feeling is they don’t want to risk him too much before then, with his injury record) but the Braga game is on Thursday after the final on Sunday - if Sangare or Aina are involved, what happened last time suggests they won’t be available. So we are one injury, to Neco or Savona, away from a fill in full back -Morato, Abbott or Dominguez, in a potentially decisive game.

Do people really think that Nuno is given sole responsibility for picking and submitting the Europa League squad?

I would expect him (and his coaches) to be the main decision maker as to who is in the 22. Just as he's picks the team and squad for games. Obviously there'll be someone else at the club who checks it's compliant and formatted correctly and going to the correct email address.

So, with 3 extra places for the Premier League that brings Hutchinson, Gunn and Zinchenko in, with Cunha qualifying as an U21 for that competition.

Just leaves Awoniyi, Silva and (unless I missed him leaving) Carmo on the books but with nowhere to play.

Carmo has gone to Real Oviedo on loan.

I'm going with £170 to £250 for the 4 games, depending on where you sit, as opposed to about £50 to £70 per match if buying tickets individually.

That would be a £30 saving.
