The Murillo highlights reels are quite interesting for once, especially for a young player with so few first team appearances under his belt. Either Brazilian forwards are all sluggish (which seems implausible) or he is quick, and he looks very comfortable with the ball at his feet (probs not that much of a shock in Brazil)
Quite a few sliding / going to ground tackles in evidence, which might need to be coached out of him with UK refs.
And as others have observed, he’s a unit; not going to be bullied. Looking forward to seeing how he develops under Felipe’s wing.
My head is in this space. I can't quite see how we get him involved enough, and he doesn't strike me as the type to drop, work hard, and make it happen.
Isn't Smith-Rowe going to want to take up the same positions as MGW? I guess they could play as the advanced two in the 3421 but I still expect Cooper to want two who can run in behind (Awoniyi and Elanga/CHO/other) and be fed by MGW and Danilo(?).
Getting a bit nervous at the lack of departures with only three days to go. We have a lot of players still on the books who need to be playing somewhere else this year - Horvath, Biancone, Panzo, Shelvey, Freuler, O'Brien, Mighten, Dennis and Hwang are all still on the books, and I think only Horvath, Freuler and Hwang have made a matchday squad this season, never mind actually seen playing time.
it's this mismanagement of recruitment, including the infamous Arter contract, that needs the most attention moving forward. No club is ever going to be 100% successful with its recruitment, but we seem to be among the worst and not being able to move players out.
If you look at the squads for the first part of last season: www.premierleague.com/news/2786707 you'll see there are a few squads (Arsenal, Brighton) who don't even fill their 25 places.
