Serge is 30 and out of contract in the summer, this would likely be his one opportunity to get the big payday. Can't blame him if he wants to go.

I like the idea of a full back who can take a penalty.
He obviously likes the away kit.
30 is not old for a defender. We can offer him a contract extension. I have no idea whether he's looking to leave Forest for a 'big payday'. Do you have evidence for this?
Well he could be going to Saudi for the weather I guess.
Take a deep breath, take a moment to calm down a little, re-read my post, and think about what words mean.
So...no evidence.
So...no evidence.
So... still not reading what was written. I think I was pretty clear in my talking about why Serge might be interested in going, it shouldn't require too much effort to figure out how something like that might play out.

Ok, that is at least some evidence for your original point. However...
Serge likes the premier league. Serge likes Forest. Serge smash! Serge can possibly play on the left. I have decided that someone else is leaving..
I have also decided that Serge should play in the left against man Utd because Rashford ate him for breakfast on the right.
This means our new dark arts right back can kick Marcus off the park in our next game.
Job’s a good ‘un!
Chicago: Propagandist!
I wish Russ would stop touting our best players for a Saudi jaunt.
He’ll be driving MGW to a private jet at East Mids next ready for his Russ-arranged Saudi move.
Ok, that is at least some evidence for your original point. However...
However what? He's 30. The older he gets the lower the offers will get. It is unlikely that he gets another shot at Saudi lucre, and even if we offered him a longer deal we can't match their money.
I realise that as Nottingham lads the idea of abandoning Forest is anathema to us, and it might be that Serge can't imagine life without the Black Orchid or whatever the 2023 equivalent is, but it seems aafe to assume that there's little loyalty on his part.
...take another little look at what I wrote. I was suggesting that even if he is 30, he might be persuaded to stay by a Forest contract extension. A perfectly comprehensible response to your original post. Do you understand what that means? It means he might be persuaded to stay at Nottingham Forest by people offering him more money to play in the English Premier League. Let me explain. "Saudi offer? - no thanks. Continue to play for Forest? - yes please." Do you understand now, or would you like a picture to illustrate it?
You can try. I'm intrigued as to the concept of Forest offering more money than Saudi.
Maybe we should have gone after Neymar.
Of course, he might still decide he wants the extra dosh that Saudi would be able to pay him. But I was suggesting a) that 30 is not over the hill, and b) Forest should at least try to persuade him to stay. Is it getting through yet? Is the world starting to make a little more sense?
I think we’d all miss Angry Serge - one of those signings who elicited a “Meh” at the time but proved to be outstanding - but if he really does have an offer from Saudi, realistically he’s not turning it down (except on Planet Normal for Norfolk, it seems). Hard to blame a man for choosing financial security for life (& probably his kids’ lives, too, if he has any), however much he might like Nottingham!
Still, no poultry counting and all that, but if we do get Montiel that’s a serious coup. Two years ago we were struggling to get in enough loans under Hughton; from there to a World Cup winner is quite a step!
