    Everton's hearing is in October.

This year appears to be a good year to be conservative, especially given we are a few too many on the pay roll as it is.

Aim is to finish above three, which should be achievable with a more settled squad this year.

We still have one of the lowest cost squads in the league with most of it spread out over several years hence, and we've spent nothing like what we did last year. There are plenty of beans in the tin still for a Sangare or Adams if we can persuade them.

Though most of us would entirely agree, I’m less sure that Marinakis would…

Same as last season: step 1, more points than Derby.

Latest rumour Brennan to Wet Sham if Paqueta goes

I really don't want him going there.

He's very similar to Bowen but not quite as good (at the moment, anyway). That would be a crazy way for West Ham to spend money.

With Paqueta, Rice and that Italian striker going they're likely to have about £180m+ to spend. Even after Ward-Prowse and some others they can still afford to take Brennan and have him as a Bowen understudy for a year or two.

Sure, West Hm could afford it, but why would Brennan want to go there on that basis? To my mind, “latest rumour” = “a few webmongs have worked out that West Ham have money to spend”

It wouldn't be tempting to me, but playing devils advocate ....

    • Higher profile club than us (currently)
    • European football
    • Live in London
    • Higher wages

Plus with Paqueta gone, and Antonio getting on a bit he might be able to force himself into their front line over the season.

Maybe - and I don't know if this adds or removes credence from the rumour - but it is in the Torygraph too - but not Percy

Yes, but he doesn’t play in either Paqueta or Antonio’s position; the proposition on offer from Shady was “Bowen’s understudy for a year or two”.

It’s up to him, I guess. Assuming they make an acceptable offer.

Wetshams: What we really need is someone the weight of a crisp packet, who can run like the wind, is petrified of heading the ball, and can sit on the bench as an understudy for a year - we are looking to pay £50million.
Nottinghamsflorsts: [you are completely mad] Have we got the fella for you!

(Just getting in before Ingo does...)

Maybe he doesn't want to live in London.

As a 21 year old with money that would be silly.

"When a man is tired of West Bridgford, he is tired of life."

As Ken Clarke used to say.
