Absolute guarantee that he plays a stunner and beats us single-handedly in one of the games, and gets sent off in the return fixture. I’ll take that.

For the record, I'm happy to hear that we are committed to dealing with a players injury problem. As opposed, presumably, to not really being arsed. Which would go some way towards explaining last seasons squad injury history.

I suspect Cooper is much too smart to make promises about players’ futures when he could easily be made to look silly without his knowledge.

It’s just a re-hash of what SSC said after the Notts game; nothing special. If someone comes up with the right money, he’s gone. What else are you expecting, mate?

Im told Leeds put in a low ball bid for dennis. They want 25 million for Gnonto

If they don't need to sell, then that seems very sensible on their behalf. We want to get rid, and Gnonto is their star. If they knocked off, say, 5M from the price as a part-exchange that would be ok from my perspective, as it could be spun a variety of ways.

I really don't want to pay $25M for Gnonto. Apparently he doesn't have a relegation release clause so Leeds hold the cards, especially as their takeover just completed so they presumably aren't too hard up for cash.

A lot will depend on the player obviously. One of the issues with getting relegated from the Premier League with internationals in your squad is that few of them want to hang around in the second division. If Gnonto wants to go, now would be the best time for Leeds to sell him. An iffy start to next season or an injury, and their current valuation of him takes a big hit.

Especially seems like a lot for a team that plays without wingers to pay for a winger.

Onana deal has been agreed, pending contract I guess. I suppose this means that the Henderson transfer an now proceed.

Was some suggestion on twitter that we're looking at another loan as we're concerned about him currently being injured (and that Man Utd aren't open to the idea).

There's an Athletic piece that alludes to serious concern over the number of injuries last year, which has led to a lot more caution around signings this year (Omar Richards' name was mentioned for some unknown reason) - hence some of the backroom appointments.

I suggested we should be wary of signing injured players a week or two ago, with reference to Henderson. Someone at the club is clearly listening to me.

And yet Jack Lester remains employed by Sheffield United.
