Looked very good pre-season, but I was not impressed v Blackpool and the Scunthorpe manager was less than impressed by his attitude.
Expect him to rock up at Alfreton (anyone remember Danny Preston?) or similar.

There are a lot of players not on the list who played pretty regularly for U21s last year - Powell, Perkins, Bott, Hanks, Collins, Jack Thompson etc - presume they're second-year scholars?
Nice to see Clarridge given another chance - very highly rated, but had a lot of problems with injury over last year/18 months. I imagine it's a year to prove himself.

In your view how many if any are ready to pad out a Premier League squad, given all (I think?) of our first team squad are now over 21 and therefore part of the 25?

    We are 2 fewer Hammonds

    For me, honestly, not many.
It feels harder for defenders anyway - can be bullied by experienced strikers.
I like Riley Harbottle and Tyrese Fornah, but they are both over 21, so would have to be part of the 25. But that's fairly unlikely. Given how hard we found the division initially, I'd be surprised if we put faith in relatively untried players in the 25 next season (look at the January signings for example, predominantly proven players).

Of the current U21s, I really like 19-year-old Jamie McDonnell Supposedly a midfielder, but has played a lot at CB. Travelled with the first-team to Chelsea or Palace I think.
I'd like to see Donnelly/Taylor get loans at good Championship sides, after successful loans in L1 last season.
The Hammond brothers (Oli and Ben) look to have a bright future as well.
Oli, still only 20, is a great player, has something of the Frank Lampard about him - creates goals, arrives in the box late and scores quite a few too. However, still looks a bit lightweight at present, but could fill the Lingard gap on the bench. Probably needs a loan though, given he missed out in January as we were short on midfield cover at the time.

Fin Back is also still only 20, while Alex Mighten is only just 21, so they wouldn't count in the 25 and already have first-team experience.
If Clarridge stays fit I'd expect him to feature in the League Cup and possibly make the bench going forward.

There are quite U21 players who are under contract, but are 22 already, so would have to count in the 25. They may feature pre-season, but I expect the likes of Larsson, Konate to be allowed to go if someone comes in for them.

One factor for next season is that the AFCON runs from January 13th to Feb 11th.

From this season's squad that potentially impacts Aurier and Boly (Ivory Coast); Niakhate and Kouyate (Senegal); Awoniyi and Dennis (Nigeria). Some more likely than others, but still.

Post thinks we're keen to bring Lodi back.

Sure we are. But I'm pretty sure it ain't happening. He clearly doesn't want too.

I thought his family was in Brazil.

    Ah right. Same thing.

Not really, because he definitely isn’t going back to play in Brazil.

Perhaps his wife is along the lines of "I like Madrid. If it's not Madrid, I want it to be better than Madrid. Not Nottingham."

I have been to both Madrid and Nottingham and I know where I'd rather live.

Madrid is boring. Although cheaper to live in. Lodi wants to come back. We let the obligation to pay slide in March because we didn't know what division we were going to be in.

Newcastle are also interested which is annoying.

So let's see what mama Lodi and the Forest accountants come up with before we write him off.

    Watch this space muthafuckas!

    Chicago: Loding up.

As usual, incorrect! Madrid is one of Europe's great cities, have had many a fantastic night there.

Pub bore trivia fact - It is the only European capital without a river running through it.
