I believe Wood was 10M.
I believe Wood was 10M.
Premier League experience, to me, meant they were more likely to settle quickly to their performance level. These players just had a lower performance level to reach.
£15M was the reported figure at the time.
I think Shelvey was more about the wages than any fee though and that no doubt remains the case, how we shift those (or more likely a portion of them) rather than how we get anyone to actually pay us for the privilege.
Serge continuation confirmed: www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/2023/june/02/aurier-triggers-contract-extension/
Strange way of putting it:
Nottingham Forest is pleased to confirm that Serge Aurier has triggered an automatic one-year extension in his contract.
Hasn't the club's retained Premier League status triggered the extension? Aurier hasn't done it.
Perhaps it was Serge's option and he could have decided not to stay
I just read it as option for Serge to stay has been triggered.
I get the impression that someone doesn't want use the passive voice.
It's good news, whoever did it.
Shall we move the debate on to Nottingham Forest is rather than are.
Correct I'm sure but jars with me when I read it.
Totally. Russ will be along to tell me I'm wrong in a minute. But it feels really wrong.
Is Gyokeres at Coventry actually any good? Fans of a few PL teams are keen they sign him, but I can't really say I've noticed him do very much over the last few seasons we were down there.
Good to see Harry Arter still under contract.
Fewster is an interesting one. Rated enough to play at Blackpool, sent on loan and mysteriously binned off, now released. Something’s gone on there.
Looked very good pre-season, but I was not impressed v Blackpool and the Scunthorpe manager was less than impressed by his attitude.
Expect him to rock up at Alfreton (anyone remember Danny Preston?) or similar.
There are a lot of players not on the list who played pretty regularly for U21s last year - Powell, Perkins, Bott, Hanks, Collins, Jack Thompson etc - presume they're second-year scholars?
Nice to see Clarridge given another chance - very highly rated, but had a lot of problems with injury over last year/18 months. I imagine it's a year to prove himself.
