Shelvey is off, according to the Times.

Fingers bloomin' crossed. We're going to get screwed on the fee aren't we.

How much did we pay for him?

I imagine no/low fee and maybe even a contribution to wages.

He'd fit in at Sheff Weds

Yes. He’s damaged goods now. Didn’t play particularly well and reiterated his reputation for being difficult.

In fairness, the same recruitment team brought in Danilo, Felipe and Navas. (As well as Shelvey, Wood, Dennis, Ayew)

    Yeeeessss!

(That went well. Do we have to sack the recruitment team that got him in now? And reinstate the one that brought in Taiwo, Lodi and Mangala?)

Watford chappy (Giraldi?) - he's already gone.

Really good news. Sorts out a piece of dead wood and sends a very clear message. Be a cunt and you don't play again.

Good news would surely be actually managing to get rid of him without paying him to clear off, rather than merely announcing that we have no interest in keeping a player we have a large financial stake in.

I'm not sure we've announced it. I imagine his agent has been told to look for somewhere else for him.

Ayew was a Cooper signing, I think - he had him at Swansea. Interesting that the four you mention as the not so good signings were the ones with the much coveted Premier League experience, while the three who were all key to us staying up had none at all. (Granted Navas and Felipe have both played extensively in the Champions League.)

Messi confirmed leaving PSG. He must fancy a crack at the Premier League, eh, Evangelos?

A promotion chasing Champ team is probably the right fit for him. He seems like a player who was born to play for Leeds.

They're going to offer about £6-7m though. We're going to have to swallow a big loss for only 3 months of him being here. Not great.

I had it in my head that we didn't pay much up front because of his wages but transfermarkt reckons we paid EUR 6.5m, which would be a bit shit. In previous times, you wouldn't swallow the loss in case the next manager liked him but, hopefully, Cooper's going to be here for a while, so, realistically, anything we can get back on that fee and his wages until the summer of 2025 is mitigating our losses.

In my mind we paid £2million for him - but no idea of the reality

Transfermarkt has 6.5m euro - I hope that is a made up figure.

I thought we paid £14m.... But now wonder where an earth I got that from. Maybe I'm getting confused with Wood.

    I believe Wood was 10M.
