I know, it's too early. But still, a couple of stories have caught my eye.

Wonder if Henderson's bridges there are burned? If we stay up I think we'd all love to see Hendo become a full time Forest player.

    Also this intrigued me:

I'd thought a few weeks ago that if we stay up then an interesting swing for the fences target would be Phillips, and it looks like I'm not the only one of that opinion.

I think things would be patched up if United thought he’d be first choice next season but I doubt he’s in that position.

Surely you've not done all this time here, and not know how it works yet?

    Not me.

if (IF) we stay up I think there's a lot higher chance of us signing Hendo than Philips.

Wet Sham will have some ££ to spend if Rice moves this summer. He'll likely move there, Citeh aren't going to sell him to a top 4/6 rival.

Well you know my feelings on Conor Gallagher who was sensational for Palarse but pants for Chelsea.

He worked with Coops so if he is still our manager assuming we survive then why the hell not. A midfield of Yates, Barry and Conor would suit me. Fraudster can be sold for some cash in Seria A.

Chicago: In the middle of the field.

I actually think Shelvey could be excellent in our midfield with a proper pre-season under his belt, adapting to play the Cooper way (especially so if we do go down).
If he has the legs to run, he could finally be the upgrade on Garner we've been chasing.

  • 10 May 2023, 4:29 p.m.

He’s never had the legs to run though.

  • 14 May 2023, 6:13 p.m.

Garner is a significant upgrade on Shelvey

Not so much a transfer, but the club has announced that Colback will be leaving at the end of the season. An integral part of our promotion and will be well remembered Trentside.

  • 20 May 2023, 8:45 p.m.

I think we'll get Keinan Davis as a back up now, hopefully Dean Henderson too.

  • 20 May 2023, 8:51 p.m.

Also I don't know If we should sign Lodi. The fee sounds a little toppy, but he's a known quantity.

  • 20 May 2023, 8:52 p.m.

When we stayed up, I found my thoughts immediately turning back to that U17 world cup squad. What are they now? 22/23? Good age.

Are any of them any good?

  • 20 May 2023, 9 p.m.

    Cons:
    Fee heavy.
When he came he was shit.
Still not the greatest defender one-on-one.

    Pros:
You know what you are getting.
By the end he was pretty decent, especially with Taiwo down the middle to aim at.
Good pace and technique on the ball.
    Is a left back.

He looked a bit emotional on the pitch after. A fair number of this lot are pretty likeable, and he's one of them. I wouldn't be against keeping Lodi, Skateboard, and Barry together. Three might be the magic number of Brazilians.

  • 20 May 2023, 9:05 p.m.

We already have MGW and Panzo. Of the others we might want, most would be unavailable (Sancho, Foden). Hudson-Odoi, Smith-Rowe, Brewster and Gallacher might fit the mold of good enough and potentially available.

  • 20 May 2023, 9:06 p.m.

Add Felipe and you have four.

  • 20 May 2023, 9:09 p.m.

So who do we keep and who do we bury?

    Goalkeepers:
Henderson, Navas, Horvath and Hennessey. First two loans, doubt we will see Navas again. Henderson's injury means signing him isn't necessarily desirable. Hennessey and Horvath both with another year on contracts, though Luton may be keen on buying the latter. I think we'll be buying a couple of keepers.

    Defence:
Loans ending: Lodi and Aurier. I think both have done enough to try to keep.
No others out of contract. Felipe, Worrall, Boly, McKenna and Cook out of contract 2024. I'd keep Felipe, the others are arguably holding us back.
Of the rest, Williams, Toffolo (surprisingly), Niakhate, Biancone and Richards (by default) might still contribute, Panzo, Laryea and Soh would be on my move on with thanks for not contributing list.

    Midfield:
Out of contract and best of luck to Colback and Cafu, bugger off to the out of contract Lingard and Arter.
Freuler also out of contract. Worth another go.
Ojeda and O'Brien both playing over the Atlantic with time on their contracts here. Seems neither has a future with us now we are staying up. Fornah clearly going as well.
Still have Aguilera to come, who I'm not sure has ever crossed the Atlantic.
Shelvey, Kouyate and Mangala is more than enough "just about adequate", need replacing all three with better. Yates, Danilo and one other would be my central three next season.
    Scarpa? Worth a preseason? I don't know.

    Forwards:
Taylor and Ayew are out of contract. Great!
Gibbs-White and Johnson are on the "hold on unless crazy money is offered.
Awoniyi has 5 in 3 games, was looking good prior to injury, definitely worth another season.
Surridge I assume we kept for relegation. Move him on.
Mighten might've been better, he needs the right move now to save his career.
Dennis seemed unwanted from the start. Harsh, but replace.
    Hwang. Hwo?

So ideally, I'd be looking to add to:
    Horvath, Hennessey +1
Lodi, Aurier, Williams, Toffolo, Felipe, Biancone, Richards, Niakhate +1
Freuler, Yates, Danilo, Scarpa +2 one being Ward-Prowse
    Gibbs-White, Johnson, Awoniyi +3
