Me too. And it's certainly possible that the sudden prospect of £25m for a player we got on a free has enabled our negotiators to toughen the stance on Brennan. Possible. We don't know and likely never will. Unlike some, I think Serge has been outstanding for us, but Montiel looks like a potentially good replacement, and we'll be £15m up on the deal. I'll be sorry to see Serge go, but this piece of business is just too good to turn down.
