That's undoubtedly true, but we only made it by a gnat's chuff last year and losing key players in two positions and not replacing them with anything better would be troubling and a step or two backwards when we are already on the edge of beachy head looking inland with the sea and a 500ft drop just behind. Losing Johnson on top would be even more so.

Now Kicker is apparently reporting - VfB Stuttgart duo Serhou Guirassy and Borna Sosa.

He is a good penalty saver. His kicking is dreadful. Or at least it was when I saw him play in the Europa games and also for the USNMT. I am pretty sure we will be asking for it if we are asked to play out of the back.

That Guirassy bloke scored a hat trick against the Blunts. Let's just sign him up to play against them and then loan him back to Stuttgart at the end of the window so everyone gets their minutes.

Matt Turner seems like a panic buy to me. I hope to be wrong.

It would be nice to have a settled squad or players on before we get mullered at the start of the season thus making us less attractive to players we might be chasing. Still like the idea of that big bloke from stuttgard just so we can twat the blunts.

He was the dominant keeper in MLS before his move to Arsenal, in a league that had lots of quality goalkeeping options (such as Sean Johnson, Bill Hamid, Luis Robles, Andre Blake). Excellent reflexes, good command of his area. Couldn't really evaluate his distribution as Bruce Arena is the kind of coach who just asks his goalkeepers to punt it forward. Definitely an improvement over Horvath, Seems like good business to me at that price level.
