Good free kicks but not really a wing back, so would be an odd choice.
Apparently signing a Peruvian wonder kid called Quispe.
Signing players Brighton want to sign and beating them to it occasionally might not be the worst strategy.
Paying more for players that Brighton don't rate that highly, not so much.
I am starting believe that we are not going to sign anyone until the end of the window and then they will be panic signings. The start of our season is likely to be painful. I don’t really wish us to sign old lags.
Not sure what the strategy is other than Ryan Yates and Taiwo better stay healthier than last season.
We have generally been uninspired this pre Season. Not sure where the goals are going to come from other than from long throws (oh).
Has Keinan been snapped up yet by Luton?
Chicago: Starting to get twitchy.
We are trying to buy better players this season, unsurprisingly we aren't their first choice, so we are going to have to be patient and hope they finally accept.
I was not really advocating that, so much as simply getting players they do rate highly by whatever means possible.
Like who? I'm not sure that Aina, Elanga and Turner are better players on paper than the truck load we had already got by this time last year.
Not sure I would put aaron Creswell in that catergory.
Chicago: Being a numpty.
I was more meaning Sangara and that ilk of player.
Cresswell seems more a stop gap for a season pr two as our first choices wouldn't come.
Here's a thought: we had such a young team last year, most of whom were getting to know each other, and outside of goalie and left back they're all back again. Maybe we'll be better just by virtue of growing?
I take some comfort in that, as well as the knowledge that the teams coming up can be expected to find it very tough, and a couple of other teams look like being worse than last year. Other teams will be better though.
A couple of solid-looking upgrades would make me feel a lot better. Which, to be fair, seems to be what the club is aiming for. That’s the right strategy, I think, and just scatter-signing some bodies to give us something to put on Twitter would us not a viable Plan B.
So this Barrios guy we're interested in. He plays for Zenit in Russia. What's the situation with that? I thought I recall that when the war started, FIFA told any players who were in Russia that they could walk away from their contract? Also surely we aren't allowed to pay a fee to a Russian club currently?
That's one for RC with his connections?
He's on the burner blower to Magnitogorsk as we speak.
