He’s on 120k per week and wouldn’t be taking a pay cut. He’s also not done much for a while. Time will tell but I’m not too bothered about this.

Times says West Ham have offered 40M for him, which is a scandalous amount of money for a fairly average Premier League player.

They've also offered 25M for Ward-Prowse. Gallagher and JWP sounds like a midfield built for relegation, and the idea of spending 65M on it is laughable.
To borrow Tricky's assessment model: they're pairing can run, can't kick with can kick, but not while running.

JWP is not bad without the ball, and he's just not skateboard level when kicking on the run. I'd take him over bonehead like a shot.
CG can't kick, but he's got a lot of run. As much as I like him, superior to Yates.
So what you've got is two midfielders that bring all the deep components you want, latitude to have an 8 in there, and at a higher level than forest have played with. Doesn't seem terrible to cover all bases, over two bodies.
Although games are won and lost with the attacking three really.
