The second coming of Gareth Taylor would have done. Another of those players of questionable talent who played more for us than any other club.

Last post by Mangetout -Wouldn't actually be that difficult for the bank/coppers to get to the bottom of, but I don't know whether a bank and/or the coppers would care that much for a couple of grand or if they'd just write it off as a cost of doing business.
I did have a boss who had an excessive (even by his standards) night at a strip club, then called the bank in the morning to say he'd lost his wallet around 6 in the evening and anything that was charged after that was nothing to do with him. Got away with it AFAIK.
Cheaper to write it off (or charge it back, depending on stuff) than fight too hard, quite often. Makes it harder to do a second time, of course. Varies from bank to bank. Not a financial adviser. Etc.
Very common at brothel strip clubs for that to actually happen. The welcome area has video coverage so they show the mark coming in and paying for something, then the card is nicked once inside, used for profit for the club, and slipped back in the wallet in the morning when they get a tip from a nearby ATM (which shows unbroken chasin of possession). Bad news for the mark, good night for everyone else.
