Honest question.....

What is the difference between the SC situation with not knowing the best team and a manager taking over an International side who have had a run of poor results?

The quality of opposition faced by an international side is pretty stable teams generally have a ‘natural’ place in the hierarchy and allows a certain level of expectation. Yes, it will fluctuate over time as players and trends change… but it’s pretty organic.

International sides are never suddenly chucked into a situation where everyone they play is significantly better than everyone they were playing a few months ago.
this is an excellent rectangle

AFC and CONCACAF qualifiers would beg to disagree.

There are plenty of the squad with top level, CL and international experience though.

You would think the day to day training at club level should let club sides settle far quicker than international sides

Or is the sheer weight of expectations placed on club players at close quarters, day in day out, the real difference?
